Edyta's message
"I found out about my mother's death before I started the marathon in Rome.
When I was leaving for the competition, she told me to run after my dreams.
She asked me not to look back, to live what I love.
She was already in an advanced stage of brain cancer, and there was contact with her only when she felt better.
I don't remember that run.
I ran and swallowed my tears. My head was swirling with thoughts that life was unfair, that I had to stop and return to Poland.
I ran. I don't know how, but I ran one of my best results.
I know she ran with me.
*
In 2023, it will be 18 years since she passed away.
Over the years I have matured to run for her this time.
Run the Mother Road, the Road of All Roads, the Road of Hope, the most wonderful in the world, the legendary Route 66, to reach my sports Everest and give hope to others.
I will run for myself and for others. For those who can't run.
Run with me. Let's run together.
To promote diagnostics, prevention, give strength, support in the fight, so that the tears at the finish line are only from joy, not from helplessness and pain.
Because life is the way."
